County Hiring Janitorial Services Supervisor and Staff

BATAVIA, OHIO (July 31, 2026) – Clermont County is expanding its Department of Facilities Management with the addition of janitorial staff.

The expansion will allow the county more flexibility for maintaining its facilities, which include buildings that house employees located across its campus areas on Main Street, Bauer Road, Clermont Center Drive, Filager Road and State Route 222 in Batavia.

The county expects Facilities Management to be fully staffed by the end of August. Several maintenance custodians have already been hired. The new, full-time staff will be responsible for cleaning 26 buildings.

The county previously used a contracted janitorial services company to clean many of its buildings, including court facilities, Job & Family Services and Public Health, Permit Central, Water Resources administration, fleet and the engineer’s highway operations center.

The county recently terminated its janitorial services contract. The commissioners voted on May 20 to add janitorial staff to increase efficiency and security in areas that include private and confidential information.

County administration continues to partner with the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office and its Trustee Program, which allows low-risk jail inmates to perform supervised janitorial services and basic maintenance at several buildings. Inmates are not paid and instead earn sentencing credit.
