BATAVIA, OHIO (June 10, 2026) - Come one, come all to the Great American Birthday Party & Art Show this Monday afternoon, June 15, at Union Township Civic Center in Eastgate! This public event to commemorate the founding of America is hosted by Clermont County's commissioners, Clermont Senior Services and the Clermont County Public Library.
It's a free, family-friendly celebration that will include live music, singing, dancing and more. Doors open at 3:00 p.m.
The art show features patriotic quilts and watercolors handmade by local seniors.
The program at 4:00 p.m. will begin with the Presentation of Colors by the New Richmond Color Guard and The National Anthem sung a cappella by Clermont County librarian Lisa Breithaupt and family.
Pianist Annie Takeuchi Lanzone will accompany
the Breithaupts in a sing along with familiar standards like You’re a Grand Old Flag
and America the Beautiful. Ron Mohr, another Clermont County librarian, will recite The
New Colossus, a poignant poem whose text is engraved in bronze on the Statue of Liberty's pedestal.
The performance troupe known as the BB Chicks will greet guests and hand out American flags. If space allows, the troupe will invite the audience to kick up their heels and dance along to a few patriotic tunes such as the Boogie Woogie Bugle Boys of Company B.
Cake and punch will be served after the program.
