Candlelight Vigil September 10 to remember those lost to suicide

Candle LightBATAVIA, Ohio (Aug. 25, 2014) — The Clermont County Suicide Prevention Coalition will host its 13th annual candlelight vigil to remember, honor, and cherish the lives of those individuals lost to suicide in Clermont County over the past year. Anyone whose life has been touched by suicide is welcome to attend and pay tribute to their loved one. There will be a ceremonial lighting of candles, balloon release, and performance by West Clermont By-Request Choir. Refreshments will be provided following the vigil.

This event is sponsored by the Clermont County Mental Health & Recovery Board in collaboration with the Clermont County Suicide Prevention Coalition.

Experts estimate that with one suicide, at least eight other lives are impacted. Warning signs may include  loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities, increase in isolation, giving away of possessions, loss of relationships, social, work or financial, physical illness, previous suicide attempt(s), history of depression, history of alcohol and/or substance abuse, family history of suicide, impulsive  or aggressive tendencies, and a local increase in suicides.
