Mr. Kevin T. Miles

Batavia, OH – Friday, August 16, 2013 – Today, Clermont County Municipal Court Judge Brock will administer the swearing in ceremony for Mr. Kevin T. Miles, at 3:00 p.m. in the Municipal Courthouse, located at 4430 State Route 222, Court Room C. The ceremony is open to the public and all are invited to attend.

Miles said he began his career as a prosecutor trying cases and handling the day to day’s docket in Municipal Court.  “I was truly honored to receive the appointment from Governor Kasich.  I am excited to get to work in Municipal Court once again,” stated Mr. Miles. “My main focus is on maintaining and running a fair and efficient courtroom up until November and hopefully thereafter.  I have big shoes to fill left by Judge Shriver who set the standard very high.”

On July 30, Governor Kasich appointed Clermont County Assistant Prosecutor, Kevin Miles, to serve as Clermont County Municipal Court Judge. Miles is filling the seat vacated by Judge James A. Shriver earlier this year. In order to retain the newly appointed seat, Miles will have to run in the November election.

“I think that history working in Municipal Court will allow me to hit the ground running,” said Miles. “I am very comfortable and familiar with the day to day operations and the type of cases and legal decisions a judge must  make daily on criminal matters that come before that court.”  Miles also believes his years as  prosecuting attorney have prepared him for his new position.

“Although I will miss my co-workers at the prosecutor’s office, I am eager to begin this new opportunity,” stated Miles.
