Commissioners Approve County's Five-Year Hazard Mitigation Plan

BATAVIA, OHIO (July 15, 2026) - Commissioners on Wednesday approved Clermont County's All-Hazards Mitigation Plan

The plan was developed by the county's Emergency Management Agency in conjunction with all cities, villages and townships in the county. It identifies and prioritizes the range of hazards that could affect all political jurisdictions and outlines mitigation activities to eliminate or reduce losses from those hazards. It also establishes a coordinated process to implement the plan, taking advantage of state and federal grant opportunities.

Local jurisdictions must update their plan every five years to remain eligible for disaster-relief funding as stipulated in 44 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 201 and the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act.  The newly adopted plan is valid until July 15, 2031.
