BATAVIA, OHIO (Nov. 17, 2025) – All are welcome to a ribbon cutting Tuesday, Nov. 18, to dedicate the renovation and office expansion for Clermont County’s Public Defender.
The dedication will take place at 1:00 p.m. outside, near the front entrance of the office at 302 E. Main St. in Batavia. A reception with light refreshments will be served inside after the ceremony.
The project has more than doubled the Public Defender’s office space, adding 1,200 square feet. The architect was Greg Phillips with SMP Design and the contractor was Kramer & Feldman Inc.
The State of Ohio covered more than 90 percent of the project’s cost.
“The renovation and addition improve the appearance and usefulness of our main office,” said Stephen Haynes, Clermont County Public Defender. “We now have room for our appellate attorney, investigator, and social work department. None of them previously had offices in our building.”
