BATAVIA, OHIO (June 26, 2025) – More than 10 agencies and 50 emergency responders from Clermont County will participate in a full-scale training exercise in Williamsburg Township on Monday, June 30.
“This exercise is a hands-on training opportunity to strengthen coordination between multiple emergency response agencies,” said Pam Haverkos, director of Clermont County’s Emergency Management Agency and lead of the Local Emergency Planning Committee. “Our participants will be responding to a simulated hazardous materials release at the delivery entrance to the Nestlé Purina processing plant.”
The exercise begins at 9:00 a.m. and is scheduled to end at approximately noon. Emergency response vehicles will be staged adjacent to the plant at the Design Within Reach distribution center at the corner of Afton Drive and Half-Acre Road.
Participating agencies include Williamsburg Township Emergency Services, Nestlé Purina, Design Within Reach, Clermont County Emergency Management Agency/LEPC, Clermont County Department of Public Safety Services, Clermont County’s Sheriff’s Office, Greater Cincinnati Hazardous Materials Unit, Mercy Health Clermont Hospital, Ohio Emergency Management Agency, Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and more.
