BATAVIA, Ohio (Dec. 29, 2017) – Clermont County Commissioners are seeking Clermont residents interested in serving on the following boards:
Clermont County Convention & Visitors Board: This board promotes tourism in Clermont County and meets monthly. The Commissioners are particularly interested in those with a background in the hotel or hospitality business, and who have a strong interest in promoting Clermont County for events, conventions, tours and sporting/recreation activities. The board meets monthly and the term is for three years. There are two current openings.
Clermont Planning Commission: The Planning Commission is responsible for the development, updates, application, and enforcement of the Clermont County Subdivision Regulations, recommendations to various township zoning authorities, and other land use planning initiatives. The Planning Commission meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month. The term of the office is for three years. There is one current opening, and one coming up in April.
Law Library Board: This board is responsible for the oversight of the operations of the Law Library, which include providing legal research, reference, and library services to the county and to municipal corporations, townships and courts within the county and manages the coordination, acquisition, and utilization of legal resources. A basic knowledge of libraries and the law is beneficial. It is preferable, but not required, that the board member be a lawyer. The board meets four times a year, and meetings in 2018 are scheduled for March 6, June 5, Oct. 9 and Dec 4. The term is for five years and there is one current opening.
