Clermont Transportation Connection hiring vehicle operators

BATAVIA, Ohio (Aug. 5, 2016)  – The Clermont Transportation Connection (CTC) has several openings for full-time and part-time CDL vehicle operators, as well as full-time non-CDL vehicle operator/CDL trainees.

“We’re looking for applicants who enjoy driving and like to help people,” said CTC Director Lisa Gatwood. “Our bus drivers pride themselves on their customer service.”

CTC provides bus service for Clermont County residents. It offers both fixed-route buses that go between New Richmond and Amelia and downtown Cincinnati Monday-Friday during commute hours, as well as door-to-door routes through its Dial-A-Ride service.

Pay starts at $11.04 an hour for CDL vehicle operators and $10.44 an hour for non-CDL vehicle operator/CDL trainees. The county offers an excellent benefits package, which includes several  reasonably priced health insurance, dental and vision plans; State of Ohio pension plan with 14% county contribution; county-paid life insurance; two weeks of vacation, an annual personal day, and 10 paid holidays; and a generous tuition reimbursement plan, allowing employees to pursue certifications and degrees.

Applicants for the full-and part-time positions must have a high school degree or GED; a valid driver’s license; and a CDL class B with passenger endorsement for CDL vehicle operators.  Non-CDL vehicle operator/CDL trainees will be offered on-the-job training, and must get their CDL within 180 days of beginning employment. Those who pass the exam will have their exam costs reimbursed, Gatwood said.

“Our positions offer flexibility, stability and the opportunity for advancement,” Gatwood said.
