BATAVIA, Ohio (June 14, 2016) — If you are a registered voter in Clermont County, the Clermont County Board of Elections would welcome your help as a precinct election official (better known as a poll worker). You’ll be paid $130 for working the polls on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8. Call the Board of Elections to get signed up at 513-732-7275 or email the Board of Elections at Elections@ClermontCountyOhio.gov. All appointments must be made no later than July 15.
“This year should prove to be an exciting year to be working the polls on Election Day,” said Judy Miller, Director of the Board of Elections. “Working the polls gives you a chance to do your civic duty and provide a valuable service to your community. As an additional reward, you will be surprised at the friends and neighbors you will get acquainted or reacquainted with!
“It takes the dedication of some 700 registered voters in Clermont County to staff the 166 precincts located in 66 polling locations across the county,” Miller added. Currently, the county needs about 200 volunteers to reach its goal of 700, she said. She urged those interested to sign up as quickly as possible since training is needed.
The Board of Elections will also be hiring seasonal data entry clerks to start on Sept. 19, working 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday through Nov. 8. Please send resumes to Elections@ClermontCountyOhio.gov. A criminal background check will be required of all hires.
