OWENSVILLE, Ohio (March 16, 2016) — Native trees and shrubs not only thrive, they provide wildlife habitat, help control soil erosion and add interest to the landscape. This year, Clermont Soil & Water Conservation District is encouraging planting for pollinators, offering flowering crabapple, redbud, staghorn sumac, and common ninebark for our insect friends. Other plants offered include butterfly weed, milkweed and purple coneflower for hard-hit Monarch butterfly populations, as well as pines, spruce seedlings and other popular hardwoods.
Plant descriptions and an order form are available online at www.clermontswcd.org. Orders will be taken until April 8, with pickup at the Clermont County Fairgrounds from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. April 30. All proceeds received from the sale go toward funding conservation programs in Clermont County. For more information, contact Susie Steffensen at 513-732-7075 ext. 2 or email@example.com.
