Dog Licenses for 2015 Available Through January 31

petsBATAVIA, Ohio (Jan. 7, 2015) – Dog and kennel licenses for 2015 are available for purchase through Jan. 31.

“Ohio law requires that all dogs be licensed annually,” said Clermont County Auditor Linda Fraley. “We begin selling licenses on Dec. 1; renewal licenses can be purchased through Jan. 31 without a penalty.”

Dog licenses cost $16 for one year; three-year licenses cost $48 and permanent licenses are $160.

In Ohio, kennels are defined as establishments that keep, house, and maintain adult dogs for the purpose of breeding them for a fee. Annual kennel licenses cost $80, and include five tags, plus $1 per tag for any additional dogs.

Dog licenses can be purchased through the auditor’s website at www.clermontauditor.org, or through multiple vendors listed on the website, or in person at the auditor’s office, 101 E. Main St., Batavia. Kennel licenses must be purchased at the office. Fees from dog and kennel licenses help to fund the county animal shelter.
