Batavia, OH – October 16, 2013. The Board of Clermont County Commissioners issued a Proclamation designating October 23 through October 31 as Red Ribbon Week in Clermont County. The Red Ribbon Campaign is an ideal way for people and communities to unite and take a visible stand against drugs.

October is Substance Abuse Prevention Month. On Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the Union Township Veterans’ Memorial Park a rally will be held by the SOLACE Clermont Chapter. SOLACE stands for “Surviving Our Loss And Continuing Everyday.” This event will create awareness of the number of Clermont County residents who died in 2012 from an overdose. Teens, parents, teachers, and members of the community are encouraged to attend; there will be activities and demonstrations at the event to help encourage kids to stay drug and alcohol free.
