Batavia, OH – The Board of Clermont County Commissioners Proclaim September 11, 2013, as National Patriot Day in Clermont County and ask that all citizens join them in a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 a.m. that morning.
On September 11, 2001, thousands of innocent lives were lost in the terrorist attacks on our nation. Clermont County is grateful for all of the law enforcement agents, firefighters, emergency responders and scores of private citizens who showed the true meaning of heroism that day.
The Commissioners strongly urge local communities to join them in observing Patriot’s Day with ceremonies and activities, including remembrance services and displaying flags at half-staff.
Also, we can all express patriotism and gratitude for the blessings of liberty by supporting military families and teaching young people about our country’s founding principles.
