Batavia, Ohio. The Clermont County Local Emergency Planning Commission (LEPC) will hold meetings on June 18, September 17, and December 17, 2009. The meetings will be held at 9:30 a.m. in the conference room of the Clermont County Engineer’s Office, located at 2381 Clermont Center Drive in Batavia. Members of the LEPC set the dates at a Thursday, March 19, 2009 meeting.
Local Emergency Planning Committees are a requirement of the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986. LEPC’s are county organizations responsible for receiving all information and industry reports pertaining to extremely hazardous substances in the county; the group writes and reviews the county Chemical Emergency Response and Preparedness Plan to ensure citizens are properly protected.
