T-shirt design contest open to K-12 students

spring cleanupOWENSVILLE, Ohio (Oct. 28, 2014)โ€“ The Spring Litter Clean-Up, sponsored by Clermont Soil & Water Conservation District, the Valley View Foundation and East Fork Watershed Collaborative, is kicking off its 2015 event with a T-shirt design contest for local K-12 students.

Any K-12 student attending a school located in Clermont County, or within the East Fork watershed, may register to compete. T-shirt designs should emphasize litter clean-up and prevention. Students can review contest rules and register through the event website at: www.springlittercleanup.com. Design entries are due by Jan. 5, 2015.

The Spring Litter Clean-Up will be held 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, April 18, in various communities across the county and watershed.

The Spring Litter Clean-Up is a combination of two events that have proved successful for more than 20 years in Clermont County โ€“ the East Fork River Sweep and Clermont Clean & Green events.ย  โ€œCombining the events into one clean-up allows us to reach more communities and share resources,โ€ said Becky McClatchey, Watershed Coordinator for the East Fork Collaborative. โ€œOur success is due to the dedication of individuals, families and groups who choose to take part.โ€
